There are two segments of CR 271 in Jackson County. The southern branch spurs 1.92 miles south along Gulf Power Road from U.S. 90 to Gadsden Trail near the Apalachicola River. The 18.61 mile long northern section parallels the Chattahoochee River north from U.S. 90 in Sneads to Three Rivers State Park, Hayes, Hornsville and CR 164 (Timberlane Road). CR 271 was also previously designated along Dempsey Barron Road and Torreya Park Road in Leon County. These legs were renumbered as CR 1641 to remove the duplication.
