Volusia County Road 4050 is an unsigned route lining Orange Avenue east from SR 5A (Nova Road) at Tuscawilla Park in Daytona Beach. Crossing the Halifax River / Intracoastal Waterway east from City Island Park, CR 4050 spans the Tom Staed Veterans Memorial Bridge east onto Silver Beach Avenue on Daytona Beach's barrier island.
The Tom Staed Veterans Memorial Bridge replaced a draw bridge that previously opened on March 23, 1955.1 Costing $47 million, the 1,885 foot long concrete arch span opened to traffic at 8:30 AM on August 6, 2020.2 The new bridge was originally scheduled to open in early 2019, with construction hampered by three hurricanes, problems with the slope of the sidewalk and supply issues with securing enough latex concrete. Work commenced on June 6, 2016.3
