State Road 5

Florida State Road 5

Florida State Road 5 is the counterpart of U.S. 1 throughout the Sunshine State with two exceptions. A 1.27 section follows Kings Avenue and Prudential Drive parallel to I-95 and U.S. 1/90 at Southside Jacksonville. U.S. 1 was realigned onto the collector distributor roadway system of Interstate 95 during the Overland Bridge Project. The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) approved the relocation of U.S. 1 on October 5, 2019.

A 3.65 mile branch of State Road 5 separates from U.S. 1 along Federal Highway through the city of Lake Worth Beach. U.S. 1 (Dixie Highway) was realigned five blocks to the west and designated SR 805.
