Route 8300 - Kamehameha Highway
The section of Kamehameha Highway at Haleiwa bypassed by Route 83 along Joseph P. Leong Highway is designated Hawaii Route 8300. The highway stems north from Weed Circle to Haleiwa Beach Park before overtaking Route 83 along the North Shore to Pupukea.
Kamehameha Highway through Hale'iwa crosses the Anahulu River over a concrete arch bridge constructed in 1921. Route 83 was relocated off this stretch of Kamehameha Highway to Joseph P. Leong Highway in 1993.
