Business Loop I-80 - Green River

Business Loop I-80U.S. 30 Business

Business Loop I-80 serves Green River via Flaming Gorge Way, from Exits 89 to 91 along Interstate 80. With the exception of the western interchange with I-80, this business route follows the historic route of U.S. 30 and the Lincoln Highway.

Home to over 12,000, the city of Green River was incorporated in 1868 as part of Dakota Territory, and again in 1891 as part of the new state of Wyoming. The city is a hub for the trona mining industry, which is located west of Green River. Additionally, the railroad, tourism to the Flaming Gorge, and Interstate traffic augment the economy of this vibrant region. There are no coal mines near Green River; those are primary located near Rock Springs. Green River is also the seat of Sweetwater County, with the courthouse located along Business Loop I-80 in Downtown. The annual Flaming Gorge Days is a concert festival held every June.
