NY 7 east combines with I-87 north for 0.27 miles to the trumpet interchange at Exit 7. NY 7 constitutes a freeway 4.06 miles east to Interstate 787 at Green Island.

The freeway along NY 7 east ties directly into the bridge taking I-787 across the Collar City Bridge into Troy. NY 7 east to Green Island was to be part of the unconstructed Interstate 88 extension.
