Interstate 95 South
Travelers merge onto Interstate 95 (Connecticut Turnpike) from the U.S. 7 freeway south of Downtown Norwalk. The freeway proceeds west of there under Fairfield Avenue, Cedar Street and Taylor Avenue to the Exit 14 ramps onto parallel U.S. 1 (Connecticut Avenue). U.S. 1 emerges from Downtown Norwalk along Belden Avenue to Van Buren Avenue south adjacent to the U.S. 7 freeway to Connecticut Avenue. 06/13/05
Exit 14 consists of a short ramp onto U.S. 1 (Connecticut Avenue) midway between the intersections of Scribner and Taylor Avenues. Connecticut Avenue carries the US highway through a commercial district along the north side of Interstate 95 to the Darien Town line. 06/13/05

U.S. 1 changes names from Connecticut Avenue to Post Road once it enters Darien. Its landscape remains fairly similar however with dense development on both sides of route. Exit 13 consists of a direct ramp onto U.S. 1 midway between its intersections with West Norwalk and Birch Roads. 06/13/05
0.75 miles east of the off-ramp (Exit 13) onto U.S. 1 (Post Road) in Darien. U.S. 1 serves interests to Norwalk Community College and West Norwalk via West Norwalk Road. 06/13/05
Exit 13 departs Interstate 95 southbound for U.S. 1 (Post Road). Post Road splits into a one way couplet briefly to accommodate the ramps to and from the freeway. U.S. 1 otherwise continues west to Route 124 (Mansfield Avenue) and Route 136 (Tokeneke Road). Route 124 leads north to New Canaan; Route 136 travels east to Rowayton and South Norwalk. 06/13/05
Attached to the Kings Highway North overpass is the one mile overhead for Exit 11 and U.S. 1 near the Darien town center. U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) crosses paths with Exit 11 between central Darien and Noroton. Connections with Route 136 (Tokeneke Road) serve Rowayton south along the Norwalk and Darien line.
Route 136 loops south from U.S. 1 through South Norwalk and East Norwalk to Westport. The state route follows a northeasterly course 20.44 miles to Route 59 at Easton. 06/13/05
Interstate 95 passes over the Metro North Railroad ahead of the half diamond interchange (Exit 12) with Route 136 (Tokeneke Road). Exit 12 brings motorists onto southbound while providing direct access to Tokeneke Road from northbound. Exit 11, located one half mile ahead, joins U.S. 1 one third of a mile south of Route 136 and 0.4 miles south of Route 137. 06/13/05
A full diamond interchange joins U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) with U.S. 1 at Exit 11. U.S. 1 north enters central Darien; southbound continues to Darien Town Hall, Noroton and Holly Pond. Exit 10 provides a second route to Noroton from Interstate 95. 06/13/05
Continuing west on Interstate 95 south toward the split diamond interchange (Exit 10) with Noroton Avenue. Noroton Avenue travels north-south between U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) and West Avenue nearby. The last Connecticut Turnpike Service Area lies 1.5 miles ahead near the Stamford Town line. 06/13/05
Exit 10 departs Interstate 95 south onto the adjacent Ledge Road. Ledge Road forms a southbound side frontage road from U.S. 1 to Noroton Avenue at Noroton Heights. Hecker Avenue acts as an eastbound frontage road between the same roads, with both providing the movements to Noroton Avenue from I-95. Nearby West Avenue continues west from Noroton Avenue to the Glenbrook neighborhood of Stamford. 06/13/05
