Nevada State Route 653

Nevada State Route 653 connects Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) with I-580/U.S. 395 and SR 667 (Kietzke Lane) in the city of Reno. Plumb Lane extends west across Reno as a locally maintained boulevard to SR 559 (McCarran Boulevard) near Betsy Caughlin Donnelly Park.

Previously SR 653 extended west along Plumb Lane from SR 667 to U.S. 395 Business/SR 430 (Virginia Street).

Plumb Lane (old SR 653) intersects Locust Street, the entrance to Shoppers Squall Mall, just east of U.S. 395 Business (Virginia Street). Park Lane Mall was located to the south. Opened in 1967, the shuttered mall was purchased by M&H Reality Partners in 2006 for redevelopment. Demolition of the site followed from 2007 to 2009.1

Plumb Lane east advances a half mile from Kirman Avenue to intersect Kietzke Lane (SR 667). SR 667 follows Kietzke Lane north to the Sparks city line across the Truckee River and south to U.S. 395 Business (South Virginia Street).
