Route 224 - Milwaukie Expressway

Shield assembly at the intersection of 82nd Drive north with OR 212 (Clackamas Highway) in Clackamas. OR 212 west ends at the adjacent interchange with I-205 and leads east 1.5 miles to OR 224 at the Sunrise Expressway. Prior to the 2016 completion of the Sunrise Expressway, OR 224 overlapped with OR 212 west to I-205 north.

17th Avenue south at the eastbound beginning of OR 224 in Milwaukie. OR 224 follows the Milwaukie Expressway southeast four miles to OR 213 and Interstate 205 at Clackamas. OR 224 leaves the Portland metro area for Estacada.

17th Avenue provides the connection from OR 99E (McLoughlin Boulevard) to OR 224 outside the city center of Milwaukie. 17th Avenue branches northwest from OR 99E at Harrison Street and City Hall to meet the west end of the Milwaukie Expressway.

OR 224 stems east from 17th Avenue across OR 99 en route to Harrison Street. The at-grade expressway continues from there to Milwaukie Marketplace shopping center.
