
PA 12 is a 9.5 mile long route from the city of Reading east to Laureldale and Pricetown in Berks County. The western 4.5 miles of PA 12 follows the Warren Street Bypass, a controlled access expressway with five interchanges and a direct link with U.S. 222/422 along the West Shore Bypass. The state route was designated in 2000 to replace U.S. 222, which was relocated to bypass Reading to the west and north.


PA 12 (Warren Street Bypass) enters the city of Reading along an at-grade stretch of expressway. A grade separated intersection connects with PA 183 (Schuylkill Avenue) in one quarter mile.
