Primary Highway 22 travels 87.5 kilometers east from PR 2 in the municipio of Hatillo to the freeway along PR 26 in San Juan. The western 80 kilometers of the highway is the tolled Autopista José de Diego. PR 22 also doubles as Puerto Rico Interstate 2 west from PR 18, and as Puerto Rico Interstate 3 east from PR 18 to PR 26.
