Loop 396

Loop 396 travels west from U.S. 77 and Interstate 35 along Valley Mills Drive, a divided surface arterial, to Bosque Boulevard in Waco. Bosque Boulevard leads the remainder of the 5.13 mile long route southwest to the SH 6 freeway. Loop 396 represents the historic routing of SH 6.

Loop 396 (Valley Mills Drive) northbound at Clay Avenue. Loop 396 leads west through the Waco suburb of Beverly Hills. The town incorporated in the early 1940s and now forms an enclave of larger Waco.

Loop 396 spans a Union Pacific Railroad line on the half mile approach to Spur 298 (Franklin Avenue).

A diamond interchange joins Loop 396 with Spur 298. Spur 298 is a 1.67 mile connector route to U.S. 84 on Waco's south side. Franklin Avenue extends north as a locally maintained street.
