U.S. 1 South

I-78 trailblazer posted along the U.S. / 9 southbound frontage road at the former loop ramp onto the U.S. 22 east end. This ramp was removed when the interchange was reconfigured to provide missing connections between Route 21, U.S. 22 and I-78. Route 21 has direct access onto I-78 east now, whereas previously motorists were directed onto U.S. 22 east to U.S. 1/9 north.

U.S. 1 south approaches a cloverleaf interchange with CR 533 (Quaker Bridge Road) at the Lawrence township line. CR 533 passes over U.S. 1 between the Quakerbridge Mall and Mercer Mall, following Quaker Bridge Road south to Mercerville.
Sign changes made now reference Province Line Road only from U.S. 1 south.

Traffic to CR 533 (Province Line Road) departs U.S. 1 south for Lawrence township. Province Line Road (CR 569) and CR 533 split just west of the Mercer Mall on their respective paths to CR 583 (Princeton Pike / Mercer Road) and U.S. 206 (Lawrenceville Road).

Traffic to CR 533 (Quaker Bridge Road) south leaves U.S. 1 southbound. Traffic interests to the adjacent Quakerbridge Mall can take the loop ramp onto Quaker Bridge Road south or continue on U.S. 1 to the following Mall Access Road off-ramp.

A diagrammatic sign preceded the directional cloverleaf interchange with I-95 and I-295 south. Ramps tie into U.S. 1 south from Quakerbridge Mall here.

Interstate 95 encircles Ewing Township west from U.S. 1 to the Scudder Falls Bridge across the Delaware River. The Trenton Belt Line provides the fastest route for both The College of New Jersey and Rider University on the nine mile drive to Pennsylvania.

Originally a collector distributor roadway partitioned for both the ramps to I-95 south to Bucks County, PA and I-295 south to Bordenton. Now two lanes separate for I-295 northbound ahead of the c/d roadway for I-295 southbound.

Two lanes join U.S. 1 south with northbound I-295 toward Philadelphia. The realigned c/d roadway commences to the left for Interstate 295 south to White Horse, Burlington and Camden.

U.S. 1 south at the loop ramp onto I-295 south for Mercerville. I-295 meets I-195 east and Route 29 north in seven miles at White Horse. U.S. 1 continues southwest to the Trenton Freeway.
