Built in 1957, U.S. 41/301 cross the Manatee River between Bradenton and Palmetto across the Hernando DeSoto Bridge. The span extends north over Waterfront Drive from Downtown Bradenton to Palmetto Estuary Nature Preserve in Palmetto. A CSX Railroad bridge and lift span runs between the DeSoto Bridge and the E.P. Green, Sr. Bridge along U.S. 41 Business. 10/28/06
