Removed by 2014, a temporary end sign preceded the half diamond interchange joining U.S. 80 (J.R. Allen Parkway) with the Phenix City bypass (U.S. 280 & 431). 08/22/03
Construction in 2015 added a third westbound lane for J.R. Allen Parkway across the Norfolk Southern Railroad and Railroad Street underpass to U.S. 280/431. Roadway stubs at the forthcoming exchange allude to an unbuilt extension of the freeway. 08/22/03
U.S. 280 & 431 overlap 22 miles northwest to Interstate 85 at the city of Opelika. The two routes encircle Phenix City along a controlled access arterial, 08/22/03
U.S. 80 West U.S. 280 East U.S. 431 South
The Phenix City bypass expands to six lanes southward from J.R. Allen Parkway. U.S. 80 overlaps with U.S. 280 east & 431 south for 0.946 miles to Crawford Road. Crawford Road east to 13th Street represents the former alignment of U.S. 80 into Downtown Phoenix City. 08/22/03
