U.S. 219

U.S. 219
U.S. 219 travels just 1.73 miles in Virginia south from Petersburg, West Virginia to U.S. 460 in the town of Rich Creek. Historically U.S. 219 continued west alongside U.S. 460 to Princeton, West Virginia. Separate applications from the State Road Commission of West Virginia and the Virginia Department of Highways were approved by the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO) for the elimination of this overlap on November 27, 1966. Both agencies cited that the concurrency was unnecessary.
This overlap of US 219 and US 460 from Princeton to Rich Creek serves no useful purpose
