A former alignment of decommissioned U.S. 16, Wis 190 travels 19.5 miles from the village of Pewaukee to Brookfield, Milwaukee, and Shorewood. Following Capitol Drive, the entire length of Wis 190 is a multi lane highway through Waukesha and Milwaukee counties.

Analyzing the need to improve Wis 190 between at Wis 16 and Brookfield Road, an eight year study wrapped up Summer 20161. Suggested improvements included additional lanes, intersection improvements and the inclusion of an echelon intersection with Wis 164 (Pewaukee Road).2 The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), eventually canceled this study.
