State Trunk Highway 441 North

Exit 287 departs U.S. 10 east for Interstate 41 south to Oshkosh, Fond du Lac and Milwaukee and I-41 north to De Pere and Green Bay.

Construction through 2018 as part of the Tri County Project reconfigured the parclo interchange (Exit 288) with Interstate 41 into a system interchange with three high speed flyovers.

The original bridge across Little Lake Butte Des Morts was just four lanes wide with no shoulders. Following completion of the new bridge for eastbound traffic in 2016, construction to 2018 redecked the old bridge to carry the westbound lanes.

Exit 289 A to County P (Racine Street) closed for reconstruction as part of the Tri County Project in 2015. When the bridge over Little Lake Butte Des Mortes opened in 1975, Wis 441 continued straight and ended at a T intersection. A trumpet interchange was constructed when Wis 441 was extended northeast, and the short portion of old Wis 441 became a connector road with County P.
03/18/20
U.S. 10/Wis 441 curves to the northeast. Work through 2018 during the The Tri County Project flattened the previous curve here and realigned the freeway. Exit 289 A was also reconfigured into a diamond interchange with a roundabout for the west side ramps.
03/18/20
The diamond interchange (Exit 289 B) with Midway Road (CTH-AP) lies just east of CTH-P (Racine Street). Midway Road was extended to County N as an alternative to the increasing traffic on County KK in 2008.
03/18/20
U.S. 10/Wis 441 formerly made a 90 degree curve from the Midway Road underpass on to Exit 290 with Wis 47 (Appleton Road). Construction in 2018-19 realigned the freeway here to flatten the horizontal curvature and add additional lanes.
03/18/20
Warehouses and businesses were demolished, and transmission lines to the east were moved to accommodate the eventual relocation of U.S. 10/Wis 441. Wis 47 runs through the center of Appleton from north to south and ends at Wis 114 Menasha.
03/18/20
Exit 290 was reconstructed in 2015 to a dumbbell interchange. This work preceded the closure of the interchanges with CTH-P and Oneida Street in 2020-21 so it could handle the extra traffic.
03/18/20
Oneida Street extends north as an unumbered roadway from Exit 291 to Downtown Appleton. U.S. 10 previously lined the four lane boulevard north to Seymour Street west before it was rerouted onto Wis 441.
03/18/20
U.S. 10 leads east to Manitowoc where the route continues across Lake Michigan on the SS Badger Ferry.
03/18/20
04/26/16
Exit 291 departs Wis 441 north as U.S. 10 continues towards eastern Menasha and Harrison. This formerly was the last numbered interchange as Wis 441 exits were not originally numbered.
03/18/20

Wis 441 narrows from six to four lanes east beyond the entrance ramp from Oneida Street. This was the eastern extent of the Tri County reconstruction project.
03/18/20
The first confirming marker for just Wis 441 precedes the pedestrian overpass by Carpenter Street.
03/18/20
The diamond interchange at Exit 7 originally had stop signs controlling the ramps. The exit ramps were later expanded to four lanes each as Calumet Street was widened to four lanes to handle the increasing commercial and residential development.
03/18/20
Wis 441 curves to the north ahead of Exit 7 to County KK. An auxiliary lane was added when the interchange ramps were expanded.
03/18/20
A diamond interchange joins STH-441 with CTH-CE in 0.75 miles. County CE is an expressway that leads east to Kaukauna, while College Avenue is the main east-west roadway through Downtown Appleton.
04/26/16
Lawrence University, which College Avenue is named for, and the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center are located on College Avenue west across the Fox River.
04/26/16
Northbound STH-441 at the off-ramp for CTH-CE and College Avenue. College Avenue doubles as Wis 125 and CTH-CA west from Wis 47 past the Fox River Mall to Appleton International Airport (ATW).
04/26/16
Wis 441 drops below grade at Newberry Street on the one mile approach to County OO (Northland Avenue). County OO was the original Appleton Bypass of U.S. 41 before a new freeway alignment replaced it.
04/26/16
Wis 441 follows a narrow right of way as it cuts through a residential neighborhood ahead of the Fox River.
04/26/16
Interchange sequence sign posted 1.5 miles south of the trumpet interchange with Interstate 41 [U.S. 41].
04/26/16
STH-441 remains elevated over both Wis 96 and a CN Railroad line. The close proximity of the trunk highway to the adjacent railroad line and the Fox River prevented an interchange from being constructed here.
04/26/16
U.S. 41 was replaced by Interstate 41 in 2015. Signs reference the U.S. Route to follow I-41 at major cross roads.
04/07/16
An auxiliary lane added from the CTH-OO on-ramp defaults onto Interstate 41 north to De Pere, Ashwaubenon and Green Bay.
