Interstate 95 Miami to Fort Lauderdale - North


Interstate 95 approaches the first of three exits serving the city of North Miami in one quarter mile. 12/18/03

Continuing north from SR 924, I-95 approached SR 922 (Exit 10A) in one half mile and SR 916 (Exit 10B) in one mile. 12/18/03

Exit 10A departed I-95 north as the freeway carried five overall lanes (one HOV-2 and four general purpose). 12/18/03

The older guide sign at Exit 10B was much larger than its successor. A second sign for Exit 11 was added for Express Buses bound for Tri-Rail. 12/18/03

Northbound Interstate 95 reached Exit 11, 151st Street east to Biscayne River Drive and west to South River Drive. 12/18/03

Two lanes are now dedicated for Exit 12A to Florida's Turnpike north and Florida 826 (Palmetto Expressway) west at the Golden Glades Interchange. Pull through signs for I-95 reference All Exits in place of Fort Lauderdale, for the Phase 2 completion of the 95 Express Lanes into Broward. 12/18/03

A congested collection of signs directed motorists along Interstate 95 through the Golden Glades Interchange. The freeway mainline remains with three through lanes while the left three lanes depart for the original HOV flyover and the beginning of Florida's Turnpike mainline. 12/18/03

The Express Buses, Tri-Rail and Golden Glades Park & Ride Lot flyover ramp is only accessible now from the 95 Express Lanes. 12/18/03

After descending back to ground level, the high occupancy lane resumed its place as the left lane for the mainline freeway. 12/18/03

Centerline exit signs resumed after the Golden Glades Interchange along I-95 northbound. These were shifted to the right or removed to reduce conflict with the 95 Express Lanes extension to Broward. 12/18/03

Once Orlando traffic had (presumably) left via the turnpike, wayfinding signs pointed toward solely Fort Lauderdale. 12/18/03

Ives Dairy Road (former State Road 854) rounded out the Miami-Dade County exits along Interstate 95 north on this centerline posted mileage sign. 12/18/03

The Florida 854 shield was removed from this sign and replaced with NW 203rd Street, which is the same as Ives Dairy Road. Florida 854 extended west through the northern tier of Miami-Dade County, terminating at Florida 823 (NW 57th Avenue). 12/28/03
