Interstate 95 Miami to Fort Lauderdale - North


Interstate 95 continues north between Pembroke Park and Hallandale Beach to Exit 19 with SR 824 (Pembroke Road). This interchange sequence sign was moved from the median due to construction of the 95 Express Lanes in 2014. 03/25/06

One half mile south of Exit 21 with SR 820 (Hollywood Boulevard) on I-95 north. Ten lanes of I-95 here are replaced with 12 lanes: eight general travel lanes and four managed lanes. 03/25/06

The first reference to Interstate 595 north along I-95 guide signs was posted one half mile out from Exit 22 with Florida 848 (Stirling Road). 03/25/06

Hurricane Wilma in October 2005 damaged the Exit 26 overhead on the half mile approach to Florida 736 (Davie Boulevard). 03/25/06

The I-595 on-ramps to I-95 north see a second exit, joining them with SR 842 to Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The City of Fort Lauderdale is the "Venice of America," and it is the seat of Broward County. Through FLL Airport, Fort Lauderdale is known internationally as a vacation destination and is known within the United States as the closest destination airport for travelers who use low-cost airlines. 12/28/03

In Broward County, this kind of variable message sign was used instead of the kind found in Miami-Dade County. The signs were constructed so that they emulated the sun, complete with sun rays. 12/28/03
