Hopefully I'm not knocking Oscar's number out of play with my 443, this one in East Berne, NY.

Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

the last of the current Iowa state routes.

I'm not entirely convinced there isn't a 965 shield somewhere out there...

I'll keep you posted when (if) the time comes.

There are a few street signs that still show Iowa 965 at Coralville.

I've been out there last August.  Those green street signs are the only remnants of 965 I noticed.  There aren't any 24x24 panels out there and that's all I really care to notice XD

Nope, still a ways to go.

But here's a NY 444 (from Wikipedia Commons), to nudge things closer:

Definitely no stand alone shields left, as Bill, SSOWorld and I checked it out on New Year's Eve in 2014, with Bill pointing out the remaining street signs as all that was left.

Same junction as I was going to use, but a different sign as I wanted the Welshness of it. I'm a bit annoyed my sign doesn't have 'Llundain' on it.

Anyway, here's the B452 (somewhat hiding next to Ealing for the straight on destination, but this is the best picture I could find of this road that I used to travel regularly on, mostly at night).

I want to take a shot at starting a collaborative game with you folks.  The challenge is to post a route sign photo (actual image, no GSV) starting at number 1 and getting as high as we can go.  So I will post a route 1; the next person will post a picture of route 2, and another person will post route 3, and so on.

THE RULES (EDITED):
7. The number on the sign that is photographed must be shown on a route symbol.  Signs with third-person textual mentions of routes are not allowed.

Ruling on 455, please.

Regional Route 455 sign on QEW, then?

(I guess that gave me a chance to upload a few shots from the Toronto-Niagara area which was in editing progress...)

I agree, please provide credit to all photos that aren't one's own work, unless absolutely unknown (use the website address) or in Public Domain (as per Wikimedia Commons description).

Creative Commons is not Public Domain; however, generally user/name and website address suffices for credit.

THE RULES (EDITED):
1. Each person will post one photo at a time.
2. No repeat posting within 5 numbers. (The wait time is no longer 10; it is 5 now.)  That is, you cannot post again until 5 beyond your previous post.  For example, if you posted route 214, you cannot post again until route 219.
3. The above rule is no longer in effect if no posts are made in 24 hours.  That is, after 24 hours of being stuck, anyone is free to post.
4. No Google Streetview images unless we're so stumped on a number that no one posts for 48 hours.
5. Interstitial discussion posts are allowed- feel free to talk about stuff as the game continues.
6. You may post from published websites, other Flickr accounts, or other outside sources, as long as you properly credit the source for your photo if necessary.
7. The number on the sign that is photographed must be shown on a route symbol.  Signs with third-person textual mentions of routes are not allowed.

Let's see how many people we can get to play, and let's see how many different places we can represent!
Going to repost the rules so that everyone gets a refresher. Please take care to especially note rule #6.  It's not important for the sake of this game- it's important because it prevents theft of intellectual property.  That can be really offensive to certain people.  If a person makes a thing, it's their thing and they deserve credit for it.

It may be a good idea to look back at your previous posts and make sure you've given a shout-out to the creators of the photos you've used.  I'm learning about this stuff too- what regulations I should establish if I create any more forum games like this.

I had a photo used on one of those "Only In Your State" posts on the most dangerous places in Kentucky. One of the entries was for the Mountain Parkway. I recognized the photo as soon as I saw it and was amused to find the photo credit given to "HP Elkins."  :bigass:
