Damnit, things are not going my way today.
They are not exactly going my way either. Two weeks in a row that Jeff Burton didn't do well. I was actually going to drop Matt Kenseth but decided not to do it at the last minute. Maybe I should have dropped him and Johnson after all. :banghead:

I don't like losing my first place in the overall!! lol

Haha, I'm getting closer to route56! It wasn't a good option to return Montoya to the roster, though, but there is still race to go...
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

Looks like the "let it ride" strategy worked pretty well this week.

^^ I'm awaiting the race where you get trolled by the drivers :bigass:, as they did to route56 (I have cut by 40% the difference I had). And while Alex gets closer to his wife, flaroads and the aforementioned route56, I'm still making the gap between him and me bigger. Heck, there is a bigger gap between Alex and me than the one between mefailenglish and me!

Segment scoreboard:
1. (2.) jcm9572 (mefailenglish), 1,583 points (+188) (Runner-up)
2. (3.) Leudimin (Me ), 1,547 pts (+166)
3. (1.) kshighways (route56), 1,534 pts (+126)
4. (4.) 6018555 (flaroads), 1,519 pts (+141)
5. (5.) jlyben9176 (Alex's wife), 1,439 pts (+122)
6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 1,314 pts (+151)

Overall:
1. (2.) jcm9572 (mefailenglish), 3,207 points (+188) (Runner-up)
2. (1.) 6018555 (flaroads), 3,167 pts (+141)
3. (3.) jlyben9174 (Alex's wife), 3,096 pts (+122)
4. (4.) kshighways (route56), 3,061 pts (+126)*
5. (5.) Leudimin (Me ), 3,001 pts (+166)
6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 2,653 pts (+151)

*Entered in round 4, lowest score up to there assigned.

Next week is the second and last race on a non-oval, non-boring track: Watkins Glen NY. Time to get the special roster back.

Was on the road during both of the last two races and caught most of them on the Motor Sports Racing network on FM Radio. Had little internet access the last two weeks too, so my team pretty much stayed the same (and sucked none the less).

However, I was able to drive by Darlington again and literally walk out onto the track at Martinsville, so  :-P

I recently took a similar drive, passing both Martinsville and Darlington...though I didn't get to walk out on either track.  I've been trying different routes between South Florida and SW Virginia the past few years.  Google prefers 95->26->77 which makes perfect sense but puts you through the traffic hell that is Charlotte.  I'm growing fond of a route up 95 to Florence, then up to Rockingham (note to self: next time take detour to The Rock) and 74 to 77.  (Last time I took 73/220 to Martinsville to finish clinching 73.)

ObNASCAR:  Though normally I would recommend starting Tony Stewart at Watkins Glen...probably not a good idea this year.

Went by Rockingham one year when heading south from DE to FL. It is probably one of the most rural tracks that was on the Sprint (Nextel/Winston) Cup series.

Taken in May 2007 by the then North Carolina Speedway, the sign out front still advertised tickets for the Subway 400, the last Cup Series race held there in 2004.

You could say that about the closed North Wilkesboro Speedway (removed from the Winston Cup Series in 1996) as well since it is equally rural just off of the U.S. 421 freeway.

I hear you on the trips to the Mid-Atlantic. I generally try to mix things up, but depending upon time, I am generally relegated to freeways. Fortunately US 220 between Roanoke and the Greensboro area is a decent road with few traffic lights once you get out of the Roanoke area. FYI, Initial construction is underway from N.C. 68 northward for the future I-73.

I see we have a bunch of bandwagoners here...  :-D

Yup. I decided to keep Montoya from last week and do a total overhaul of my other four drivers, eventually selecting the ones ranked top-5 for this round. And route56 has exactly the same team as me, only with Keselowski and Kyle Busch switched. We both are scoring near 200 points, and as always I'm making the gap I have with Alex bigger .

Well my switch for Vickers did me no good. I wasn't going to do it but ended up at the last minute doing it anyway. I did think about selecting Ambrose but did not want to join that bandwagon, hehe.

Well, a late wreck by Ambrose caused him to fall, affecting Leudmin's (and my) entry, so now Alex has gained a little on Leudimin.

As I see it, there is no change in order of the segment or overall standings.

Who are you to say what I can and cannot like? I can applaud him and the post he made if I want to. And pointing out that I didn't do well this week is irrelevant. I was simply being light-hearted.  :D

Next week we return to Michigan Int'l Speedway. But, is there an error, or really there is a Brooklyn in Michigan?

Yes, its a village to the north of the track. The community is named after the borough of NY.

The track also resides in the Irish Hills, which is a geographical and cultural area encompassing portions of Lenawee and Jackson Counties.

Ditto, even if I got somewhat zonked by Ambrose myself.

So far, Bill O'Reilly would not like today's race.  CAUTION: Another car has exited the no-spin zone.

I'm about to catch Alex's wife in the overall league. Probably next week I will leave the 2nd to last place for the first time since... Bristol?

Scoreboards will be put up overnight (Tomorrow morning UTC), meanwhile I can say the last is again the first. And route56, why you like to eat the first I of Leudimin?

I have to say my username is somewhat incorrect as I decided to keep what I call the "Spanish order" here, the "English order" would be something like "meleudin", which doesn't sound as good as "leudimin". Oh, and I got that username from the name of a disease, guess what :P.
