Next week we come back to... my black beast :ded:: Bristol TN. And a bad schedule for me next three races. And then the chase for the cup begins...

So far, my lineup has been faster than the guys behind me.... but WTF is up with Bowyer getting punted by a freakin' lap car.
Peace to you, and... don't drive like my brother.

I know! It always pisses me off when these lapped cars don't give way to the leaders, especially when its my favorite driver leading! Bowyer unfortunately was just stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hopefully he can at least make it back up to the top 15.

Yeah, you seem to be running away with this race at the moment. I've been screwed by Kurt, with three others running so-so. I did pick Kenseth back up and at least he is leading at the moment, otherwise I would be below Me Fail English and Leudimin Racing.

Hey, I had nothing to do with your night being ruined...I'm actually surprised I finished where I did.

Nice crash that of mefailenglish where I crashed badly back in May. He had a DNS :sombrero: and a couple of DNFs, while I only had a DNF. In other words, mefailenglish forgot to make any changes and got trolled by Dillon. Meanwhile, despite I didn't got out of 5th place overall I get again to the top in current segment. Oh, and after two rounds there is again a bigger gap between Alex and me.

Segment:
1. (3.) Leudimin (Me ), 2,006 points (+136)
2. (2.) kshighways (route56), 1,985 pts (+109)

5. (5.) jlyben9174 (Alex's wife), 1,864 pts (+152) (Runner-up)
6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 1,794 pts (+103)

Overall:

6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 3,133 pts (+103)

Next week we go to Hampton GA (near Atlanta). As the race for the cup gets closer, I suggest to do something like that here, like the winner of last segment wins all the season. Any thoughts?

Yeah, we get it that you are well on your way to winning this segment and you are increasing the point spread...

QuoteAs the race for the cup gets closer, I suggest to do something like that here, like the winner of last segment wins all the season. Any thoughts?

I think it should be kept the way it is with the Segment and Overall tallies separate. Hypothetically, how would you feel if you won the first two segments, then bombed the last one, only to have someone else win that segment (and via your suggestion win the whole season)? I know if I were in that scenario I would feel like my two segment wins were negated due to someone else winning that last segment and being handed the overall winner spot.

No, I say we do not give the last segment winner the overall win of the season. Keep it separate.

You know, I thought about this yesterday while picking up most of my missing pieces of US highway in Florida.  I remembered changing my Yahoo team, but I wasn't sure if I had changed up the ESPN team.  Of course, I didn't have this thought until the race was starting, and by the time I fumbled my way to the web site on my phone, it was too late.   :-(

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, life goes on...

Don't forget to make your rooster changes, you might get trolled like it happened to mefailenglish last Saturday EDT (Sunday UTC).

You'll be happy to know I have updated my roster for Atlanta.  So when I get 3 DNFs again, it won't be because of Austin Dillon.   ;-)

I didn't mind.  ;-) You doing that last week was the only way I was spared the basement with three of my drivers crashing out.

It seems nobody caught the misspelling I wrote intentionally: I put "rooster" instead of "roster".

Now for last (over)night race. I had some troubles making up my roster accordingly with my strategy, and I had to pick Truex. But it worked very well, as I got a load of points and finally I got out from second to last place, so now it's up to route56 to make the gap with Alex the boss bigger.
Segment scoreboard:
1. (1.) Leudimin (Me ), 2,202 points (+196) (No "Runner-up" for the leader)
2. (3.) jcm9572 (mefailenglish), 2,133 pts (+168)
3. (2.) kshighways (route56), 2,095 pts (+113)

4. (5.) Leudimin (Me ), 3,656 pts (+196) (Runner-up)

6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 3,250 pts (+117)

CNGL-Leudimin

Well, I have won the segment. But the chase for the cup starts! With the latest race results, I predict myself to win the great 2013 AARoads NASCAR cup, so it would be shipped across the pond :sombrero:. So now for the final segment 2 results:
1. (1.) Leudimin (Me ), 2,353 points (+151)
2. (2.) jcm9572 (mefailenglish), 2,261 pts (+128)
3. (3.) kshighways (route56), 2,241 pts (+146)
4. (4.) 6018555 (flaroads), 2,216 pts (+137)
5. (5.) jlyben9174 (Alex's wife), 2,155 pts (+149)
6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 2,087 pts (+176) (Runner-up)

Overall.
1. (1.) jcm9572 (mefailenglish), 3,885 points (+128)
2. (2.) 6018555 (flaroads), 3,864 pts (+137)
3. (3.) jlyben9174 (Alex's wife), 3,812 pts (+149)
4. (4.) Leudimin (Me ), 3,807 pts (+151)
5. (5.) kshighways (route56), 3,768 pts (+146)
6. (6.) AARoads (Alex), 3,426 pts (+176) (Runner-up)

The chase for the cup begins. Two teamers aren't eligible for the cup: on_wisconsin, who vanished after the first segment ended back in May; and Alex, who lagged behind the rest of the group from race one. Despite missing the first three races (And thus a 369 point corrector has been applied to him since he joined), route56 is still eligible for the cup. See you all in Joliet IL (SW of Chicago) next week!

I wouldn't dismiss those that are still in the fantasy league out just yet simply because of their position at the start of the third segment. A lot can happen in those last 10 events. It happened to me last year. I was very near the bottom (overall) going in the final segment but at the end of the season I made it to the top three, thanks to better selection on my part and having some of those ahead of me falter in the last races. Granted I didn't win but I moved up four positions in a short amount of time. Point being, you never know what is going to happen.

And for what its worth, I do not follow your "point corrector", so I see a slightly different scenario going into this last segment...

With that being said, good luck to all in these last 10 races! May the best "driver selector" win!

CNGL-Leudimin

Then for you route56 is even behind Alex with only 3,399 points. I've been adding 369 points to route56's score due to he missing the first three races. 369 was the score of Alex (Already last) at that time.

But you said so, everything can happen in the Chase for the cup. Lets choose and wait.

PS: Just four races ago I was 200 points behind the leader, now I'm only 80 away.

A huge scandal is brewing as Fantasy NASCAR officials are investigating allegations that the MFE team intentionally wrecked and called drivers into the pits to allow Alex on Team AARoads to move up in the points and qualify for the chase.  Stay tuned for further updates...

What? I said he isn't eligible because he lagged from race one, buy anything is possible and he could get the cup (Very improbable). Anyway, don't forget to pick your drivers, I have troubles setting up my team.

I didn't knew about the controversy. Very very few NASCAR news make it across the pond to here.

Its been in headlines all week over here. This is a more updated version of what has transpired since the end of last Saturday night's race:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nascar-adds-gordon-chase-field-201315916--nascar.html

Long story short: Michael Waltrip Racing was called out on manipulating the end of the race with Clint Bowyer's spin and having Brian Vickers pit to get positions for Martin Truex Jr. to get into the Chase, and essentially Jeff Gordon out. After an explosion of outrage from people in the social media world, NASCAR pursued an investigation into the allegations of manipulating the outcome. Their findings were conclusive that MWR cheated, so they were fined $300,000, suspended the General Manager (who was Vickers spotter that night and was the one who told him to pit) indefinitely, docked each driver 50 points, and ultimately kicked Martin Truex Jr. out of the Chase, replacing him with Ryan Newman. Fast forward to Friday, NASCAR held a press conference in the afternoon announcing that a 13th spot had been created for the Chase and that Jeff Gordon would fill that slot, because of all the wrong doing from MWR and from the fact that two other teams (Joey Logano and David Gilliland) supposedly made a deal to get Logano into the Chase. So since NASCAR changed its own rule (as they often do for their privileged drivers) there are 13 drivers racing for the Championship.

The hyperlink article gives a better description of what happened, but that's it in a nutshell. I'm sure I missed something in my summary, but its been such a busy week in NASCAR news. You know, in writing that synopsis it almost seems like I just wrote a script for some sort of testosteroned-enriched soap opera...

And yes, I am keeping my avatar alone and not removing it. I am a Clint Bowyer fan, through the ups and the downs of his career. I'm not sure if the spin was intentional, even with the "suspicious" in-car chatter right before the spin (which I think was total coincidence and was probably related to something else entirely - say the poison oak he had on both arms) but if he could blow a tire just from forcing a spin, then he is one hell of a driver!! The only way they could have caused the tire to go down is if they bent the right front quarter panel downward to slightly rub on the tire on that last pit stop. No one has said that is what happened, and from the sound of it the whole story behind the spin will remain silent (for good I hope). Unfortunately for Bowyer though, he has a rough road ahead of him trying to get his fan base back because there are a lot of Bowyer haters out there now.

As for Gordon, I honestly don't think he deserved the chance to get into the Chase. He had a mediocre year including five DNF's and no wins. Granted he was on the bubble going into Richmond, but who is to say that even if MWR didn't do what they did that he would have gotten in? Something else entirely could have happened in those final seven laps. No, he only got in because of his constant pleas and the pleas of Hendrick Motorsports, which has major clout in this sport. Now that he is in, we'll see what he can do to win his fifth Championship, if anything at all.

By the way, because of all of this, now all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers are in the Chase, giving them a 30.8% chance of going home with the trophy. Just food for thought.  ;-)
