Based on Travel Mapping. Routes where I'm the only user to clinch are in bold.

I didn't bother to tabulate my foreign country ones (outside of Canada). I would imagine I'm the only one on most of them.

There are quite a few TM users in Europe so I wouldn't assume that if you have any travels there.

Some in Europe. Far more in Asia.

Update: 17, 69, 86, 127, 175*, 187, 219

Mississippi: 350, 556, 804 are the only ones I can find. rlee at TM has about 90% of the state completed.

I guess the two routes I've clinched in Trinidad (Audrey Jeffers Highway and Beetham Highway) are also solely clinched by me.

Decided to look. I'm the only clincher on:

Georgia S6
Iceland 60, 61, 72
Philippines E1
Portugal VE1 (both of them)

Surprisingly low. Even my Armenian and Kyrgyz clinches have one other person.

I have now clinched NE 87, which only one other person on TravelMapping has done.

An update, as now I'm the only person along with Oscar to clinch AK7 in Ketchikan.

Bolded highlight the routes where I'm the only one (as of February when I went through them all again).

Hm.  Not sure just clinching one segment out of four counts as a clinch. :D

TM doesn't show it yet (at least until tonight), but apparently I am now the first person to clinch the main section of OK 2, as well as TX LOOPs 205 and 391. I'm honestly a bit surprised that neither OKRoads or @Scott5114 have managed to clinch OK 2. It's a shame no one else on TM hasn't yet. Beautiful route.

Heh, yeah, OK-2 was always just a biiiit too far east for me to get to comfortably (and not really on the way to anywhere). I'm guessing that's why Eric hasn't gotten around to it either (since he too is based in Central Oklahoma). I have at least been on the section that overlaps OK-1, which is pretty gorgeous.

The vast majority of people who go to or from O'Hare Airport by car will clinch I-190 in the process, so that has to be way up there.

Jim has a program to clarify this, but last I remember it was either I-95/I-495 in DC or I-295 in DE.

Think east and think short and think major travel corridors.  A query on the TM database, limiting to "normal" users (for example, my travels count only once, not my extra year-specific or car-specific list files) gives this as the top 15 (though I-95 and I-495 DC are the same tiny segment):

+---------------+----------------+
| route         | clinched_count |
+---------------+----------------+
| de.i295       |            182 |
| dc.i095       |            181 |

If we change to the entire route, not just the part within a state/region ("connected route" in TM terms):

Interesting that ON 420 is there.  It might be true for us, but I'm not sure that such would be true for the general public, given the 50/50 split between the remainder of the route to RR 98 and the QEW.

Only 30 of the 92 TM travelers who claim some of ON 420 have the segment west of QEW.  So if that segment wasn't considered part of the route, it would easily move to #1 on the non-US list.

You bring up a good point that it is not wise to assume stats based on TM users' travels are representative of the general traveling public.

This seems like another good time to mention a way to explore this kind of thing in TM is to load up Mapview, and select "Color by Traveler Count" and probably "Highlight All".  You can also click on a segment to see how many travelers have claimed it, and if you click on the text "N travelers", subsequent hovers over that text will list all of the TM users who claimed that route.

Finally, I want to make a page where we anyone could find these kinds of rankings, restricted in various ways.  Not sure when I'll have a chance to try to implement it, but there's now a GitHub Issue to remember the idea.
