I had no idea that this was a legitimate award that anyone gave out. I thought it was limited to Father's Day mugs and cheesy sitcom plots.

Big deal, there's at least ten million Number One Fathers...well, the hats and shirts tell me so.

Just a warning, if this thread goes into politics and Christie bashing, this thread will be locked down.

I fail to see how it possibly can avoid Christie bashing. The setup is so obvious.

Agreed, and I'm not even a mod.  I'm just glad a certain someone is on hiatus.  Personally, I think the thread should be nuked before something happens.

yeah, it's pretty pointless even by off-topic standards.  if we're not to turn this into a political discussion, then where, exactly, is this thread to go?

"yep, good father."
"for sure.  gets that reproduction done."

What's the latest on Bridgegate, anyway? Seems like that story has died down quite a bit.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

"how big do you think his penis is?"
Are we assuming that it's proportional to the rest of him?

With most big guys, isn't it usually inversely proportional?  :bigass:

I think you're pretty hard up with that joke.  :colorful:

nj.com usually has at least one story a day on it.  Most of them are rehashing other stories.

The lastest is that 4 more people were subpoenaed to talk to an investigative panel.

Bridgegate is right where Christie wants it - off of everyone's minds while more important issues (Crimea, hockey) come to the front.

Only reason i created this topic was to see how long it would take someone to take it into political territory.

Well, at least agentsteel's sharp turn, into the most plausible non-political territory, is a keeper.

He did try this tactic in the fall, when the media kind of slowly stayed on the story from September on (it was in the Record every few days) and Christie consistently avoided or deflected (remember the "Yeah, sure, I went out there and moved the cones myself" joke?).  It didn't work out so well.

Part of what make the ultimate revelations so damning then was all that evasion.  He's at least taking the Spitzer "not here to discuss that" route, which is slightly less damning, but how much will depend on what further revelations come out.

Whatever.  If you want to call it Christie-bashing to comment on how the biggest roads-related news story of the past year has played out, you're entitled.

Well, "He-who-may-or-may-not-be-allowed-to-be-named" is too cumbersome a term.
