Quote from: 1995hoo on December 28, 2024, 09:32:21 AMI didn't manage to get a photo of it because I wasn't expecting it, but yesterday when I made the right turn into Arlington Cemetery I saw a new little green sign on the right, immediately inside the main gate as you start up the hill on Schley Drive, that says "NO RECREATION." Evidently there have been incidents of people doing things like having picnics or similar and the authorities want to put a stop to that sort of thing. I'll try to get a picture of the sign the next time I go. (The Street View there is from 11 years ago. As a general matter, you can't drive into the cemetery unless you have a family pass.)

That's too bad.  Picnics in cemeteries were quite common in the Victorian/Olmsted days.

"Silence and respect" is a very big deal to the Armed Forces units that operate Arlington Cemetery; there are signs (example below) asking for such all over the place (though not near the columbarium where my father is inurned, perhaps because (1) the average visitor won't likely walk up there and (2) if someone does, he will have passed umpteen signs to that effect by the time he gets there).

Cyclists used to be allowed to pass through the cemetery en route to DC but were banned a few years ago with the exception of riders with family passes going to visit a gravesite or columbarium niche.

I've been there many times, so I've seen the signs.  A silent and respectful picnic can be had.

Quote from: Revive 755 on December 29, 2024, 10:11:20 PM"Remain Stopped on Red" on NB Hanley Road in Richmond Heights, MO.  Seems to be a pre-signal setup without a railroad.
Seems to provide signal access for what appears to be private side street nearly adjacent to the main signal.

This goes in the "duh" category. Remain stopped on the signal that forces you to stop? You don't say!

I don't think it's a "duh" sign; right turn on red would be allowed if that sign wasn't there.

Figured someone might like the Florida welcome sign on this beer I bought yesterday. The box says the beer pays "tribute to 'the world's worst superhero,' Florida Man."

On US 209 NB in Port Carbon

And then in Middleport (though you are not legally allowed to turn left at the intersection where US 209 turns right so I am unsure what the point of this sign is)

I saw these when I visited Geneva back in September.  I did not see this exact assembly as I only traveled US 20/NY 5 along it NY 14 TRUCK Concurrency.

Nice sign lol.
Although the wording is fine, each exit attraction should be partitioned from each other for better reading.  Plus mix case should be used as well.

An interesting sign in Hillsboro, OH. If you come into town from the south on OH 73, you go into a five-way intersection at an angle, and apparently that setup was confusing enough that Hillsboro needed to put up a diagram to explain it. Unfortunately, the text is small enough that it's hard to tell what you're looking at, and you only have time to read it if the light's red.

Sbd US-127 at the new roundabout junction with US-223 north of Addison, MI.  The arrows match the sign plans, but it would have been nice had MDOT at least tried to make them look similar.
