Not sure what more detail there would be.  Figured it was something along these lines.

Unless the toll road cuts through your property, you don't really have an expectation of privacy when driving on it.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Most places that I go to off of my property do not demand access to my credit card or bank information.

Which is why there is a pay by mail option. You get to decide if privacy or convenience is more important.

Well, if you only pay with cash, I suppose.  I suppose you have a credit card for building up credit only?

NWI - My understanding is that Pay by Mail doesn't accept cash.  And for me there's nothing convenient about any non-cash payment method, especially when it can't be done at the point of sale.  Even though it seems to be a minority opinion on this forum, I sincerely appreciate every state that still accepts cash tolls (or has no tolls).

Rothman - I'm old.  I don't need to build credit, but I do need to protect my personal info as best I can.  It gets harder all the time, but I whole-heartedly support companies and gov't entities that still let me pay with legal tender.
