A floating bridge for I-695, and then put the shipping channel onto a canal aqueduct crossing over the floating bridge. That way, nothing for ships to hit or cause to catch fire.
"Now, what if da Bearss were to enter the Indianapolis 5-hunnert?"
"How would they compete?"
"Let's say they rode together in a big buss."
"Is Ditka driving?"
"Of course!"
"Then I like da Bear buss."
"DA BEARSSS BUSSSS"

The two existing approaches should remain in place but should simply be extended a bit further out over the water, and the road to either side should be realigned to provide a longer straightaway on approach so that drivers can build up the necessary speed to jump the gap in the style of Bo and Luke Duke.

Except that never worked for Sheriff Rosco.

Doesn't that just underscore that my answer is not a good one? And isn't the goal of the thread to give a bad answer?

The Password Bridge, which has to be rebuilt every 90 days (although most of the time Maryland just changes out one structural member and calls it good).
