I've been on:

* US 20 in Illinois (along the I-39 multiplex if nowhere else).

* US 6 in Scranton, along the I-81 multiplex.

* US 30 in Oregon

* US 50 in DC

* US 60 in Kentucky and West Virginia

* US 12 in western Washington

* US 70, 1, and 64 in North Carolina

* US 40 in Wheeling, West Virginia.

* US 62 in Oklahoma City

* US 2 in Washington

* US 52 in North Carolina

* US 41 in Illinois

So, the longest US highway I've never been on - and which I've never even crossed or come within a few hundred miles of - is US 87.

Heh.  Glad I came up with the same answer I gave in that old thread.

ETA:  Huh, there was supposed to be quote in this post.  Looks like if I quote something on my phone in Tapatalk that it doesn't come through when viewing on a desktop web browser?

Answer was US 18.

We've had this thread before, back in 2019.  I'll just link my answer from then; it is still the same answer today.

Longest never driven would be US 12, but I have crossed it.  Never driven and never crossed would be the western US 2.

Looks like US 97 for me.

Crossed US 97 in Bend many years ago, but it doesn't look like there is now a concurrency with US 20- and who knows if there was back then.

Update:  Clinched I-82 on my way back from Seattle in October, 2023, so I traveled almost 42 miles of US 97 in Washington.

For me, then, the distinction is now held by US 43.
Main Line Interstates clinched:  2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 37, 39, 43, 44, 45, 55, 57, 59, 65, 68, 71, 72, 74 (IA-IL-IN-OH), 76 (CO-NE), 76 (OH-PA-NJ), 78, 80, 82, 86 (ID), 88 (IL), 94, 96

I'm pretty sure US 64 wins this one, though I haven't been on much of 70.

US33 is the 80th longest U.S. Highway (according to Wikipedia).  Kind of surprising I've been on the longest 79 as I've never really gone out of my way for U.S. Highways.  For whatever reason, I've always been more interested in Interstates and state highways.  Obviously a decent amount I've gotten because of concurrencies.  I've also never been on a U.S. Highway in New York or Vermont, but have in every other state where they exist.

If we exclude interstate concurrencies, my answer would be US11 at 1,645 miles.

Chris

Similar. Mine's 221, 76th I guess. I've also never sought out US highways, just lots of concurrencies. Amazingly, I've clinched zero of them.

US 6, though I have crossed it a few times in Ohio and Connecticut.

I recently drove the westernmost segment of US 20, so that's one off the bucket list.

Turns out I did briefly end up on US 6 in Ohio, so my actual answer is US 50.

Completing the trilogy of threads here...

For me, it's US 60. Crossed it many times in Louisville, Lexington and Charleston WV, but never been on it before. Second longest is US 87.
Been on both US 60 (concurrency with I-57 in MO) and US 87 (concurrency with I-10 in TX) in the past week. Also been on my third longest missing (US 84, concurrency with US 59 in TX), so now it's US 83 for me.

Mine remain the same, but after my trip last fall, I've now been on US highways in all 48 states that have them.

In TravelMapping, I don't see an easy way to get an accurate answer to this, but the longest I can find is US-81, which is 1241 miles long. Almost any significant N/S US route will have some minor concurrency with the many E/W interstates that I've driven. But since there are a lot of N/S interstates that I haven't driven in the middle of the country, there could be some long E/W US route that I haven't touched. The longest I could find was US-18, at 1052 miles. But any other E/W routes that have made it into the westernmost 11 contiguous states, I've been on at some point.

Thanks. The longest for me, then, is US-183, at 1263 miles. US-81 and US-18 are the only others over 1000 miles.

But how do you get to that page from the home page? I've never seen that system.php page before, and I've poked around everywhere, or so I thought.

My #1 is US 283 (734 miles), unless I count crossing it on TX 36, KS 156, KS 96, US 24, US 36, and US 6/34.
#2 is US 165 (406 mi.), which I've never crossed at grade.
#3 is US 271 (297 mi.), unless I count crossing it at Zero St. in Fort Smith.

US 290 (276 mi.) is my longest untraveled east-west US route, and I've only ever crossed over the eastbound ramp to it from I-10.  Although, US 380 (681 mi.) would've been my #2 overall if not for its tenth-of-a-mile concurrency with US 84.  Also, my only mileage on the 637-mile-long US 277 is the 1/3 of a mile between I-10 and the Sonora Dairy Queen.

US 311 appears to be my closest completely untraveled US route to home.  It's 58 miles long and just over 600 miles away.
