An oddball freeway onramp sign by California standards to begin with, but a closer look in the darkness shows it is actually repurposed express lane signage (rotate it 90 degrees left). I-580 at N Flynn Rd leaving Livermore.

Although this sign has two nice examples of demountable copy, only the I-215 shield is button copy -- the Barstow lettering and arrow are older, and do not have reflective elements. The I-215 is most likely covering up where an I-15 or I-15E used to be given the date code "CA 70" on the back. Photograph obtained from sidewalk with a puzzled CHP officer trying to figure out what I was doing. I-215 at Orange Show Rd in San Bernardino.

For yuks: wait until you see how much attention our ADDs get! CA 99 near South Rd in Delhi.

Maybe it was painted by the cows from the Chick-fil-A billboards.

Depends on whether it's enforced or not.

How dare you insinuate losing heart wouldn't be enforceable. It's like the number 1 rule in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Is it warning you not to lose heart?  Or is it warning you about something specific up ahead, but also encouraging you not to lose heart, because you're going to make it through just fine?

They should put this sign on entrances to I-95 and the Arroyo Seco Parkway.

That could be their gauntlet of speed cameras.

Why two US 13 shields here?
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

My guess is that until between 1998-2002, you could not access US 13 North from I-495 South and they wanted to make sure people knew that you now could.

This is the 2007 GMSV of that same location - https://maps.app.goo.gl/fEQuqej3AzeTckpw7.  A bit too blurry to tell if a patch was placed to add the 2nd shield, but the word 'NORTH' is definitely different than 'SOUTH'.  The BGS was replaced by the next view in 2008.

I'm pretty sure it's is not worse, but it's hard to say it's much better: leaving the street named after a serial abuser, or ... this. (Former Cesar Chavez Blvd exit in Fresno, formerly Ventura St, NB CA 99.)

The sign on the right looks like something a movie production would temporarily install for use in a scene...

The exits from southbound I-435 in Kansas to Shawnee Mission Parkway, Exits 6A-B, have been missing the exit direction sign for more than six years now.

It was there in May of 2019: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pyT1nRJmUwQTJsTEA

But by June of 2021, the sign was gone. Not only that, they also removed the overhead sign support and the guardrail protecting it: https://maps.app.goo.gl/h7oovZu1B4PQJaPu5

The most recent Street View pass was in October, and I can confirm it hasn't been replaced since then: https://maps.app.goo.gl/jFnTdXevZVcjFMGr5

This is an interesting style of enhanced tenth mile marker:

An extra-wide gore sign on future BL 81:

And quite possibly the slowest speed limit posted on any interstate.  I don't understand why they made it 5 all the way from the border to the inspection booths; before the port of entry was rebuilt, this used to be 35, and other border crossings don't do this.  And the first 65 sign isn't for two miles, so by the logic of the speed limit applying from the first sign with the limit to the first sign with a different limit, the speed limit is 5 mph for that entire stretch.
