An oddball freeway onramp sign by California standards to begin with, but a closer look in the darkness shows it is actually repurposed express lane signage (rotate it 90 degrees left). I-580 at N Flynn Rd leaving Livermore.

Although this sign has two nice examples of demountable copy, only the I-215 shield is button copy -- the Barstow lettering and arrow are older, and do not have reflective elements. The I-215 is most likely covering up where an I-15 or I-15E used to be given the date code "CA 70" on the back. Photograph obtained from sidewalk with a puzzled CHP officer trying to figure out what I was doing. I-215 at Orange Show Rd in San Bernardino.

For yuks: wait until you see how much attention our ADDs get! CA 99 near South Rd in Delhi.

Maybe it was painted by the cows from the Chick-fil-A billboards.
