Was kinda hoping someone would spot that. :-D

I-74 doesn't exist in VA, but technically it does, because it would overlap I-77 for its entire length.

In New Jersey an exit to an unnumbered road is more uncommon (though 600 series county routes are often unsigned on the exit signs). For example, the only exit on I-295 in NJ that truly doesn't lead to any numbered road is Exit 71 (Federal City Road).

I-74 does exist in Virginia.  VDOT requested it and AASHTO approved it in Oct 1996 from I-81 southward along I-77.  VDOT has chosen not to post it.  I emailed VDOT awhile back to see what they might be waiting on to post it (for instance, NC posting it on the US 52 overlay to Winston-Salem).  I did not receive a response.

In MN, I believe I-35(E) meets numbered routes at every exit between Exit 113/Little Canada Road and 251A/Cody St (a former alignment of US 61) in Duluth, a 135-mile stretch. (A handful of county routes aren't signed on the freeway but fully marked on their mainlines.)

Quote from: thspfc on August 06, 2024, 05:24:45 PMWisconsin is tougher because of our lettered county roads. For freeways it's probably 36 miles of I-39/90 between CTH-N in Dane County and CTH-S north of Beloit.

Exit 147: CTH-N
156: US-51 N
160: US-51 S / WI-73 N
163: WI-59
171A: WI-26
171B: US-14
175: WI-11 E
177: WI-11 W
183: CTH-S

If divided highways with periodic intersections in addition to interchanges are allowed in, it's 41 miles of WI-26 between the start of the expressway in Dodge County and CTH-N north of Milton.

Exit 52: WI-60 / WI-16 W
45: WI-16 E
43: WI-19
39: BUS-26 (Watertown)
30: BUS-26 (Jefferson)
27: US-18
25: BUS-26 (Jefferson)
23: BUS-26 (Fort Atkinson)
21: US-12
19: WI-106
17: BUS-26 (Fort Atkinson)
11: CTH-N

Hey, I count lettered routes too!  Basically, "designated route" is the concept.  What would Wisconsin's longest stretch be if those are included?
Well, every exit off I-90 in WI is to either a numbered or lettered route. So 187 miles.
Not High Crossing Boulevard in Madison. Besides that, every exit on I-39 is to a numbered or lettered highway, too.
Gray area there. Could easily be considered part of the US-151 exit.

Also I-39 has an exit north of Stevens Point to a road that has no designation.

They're probably waiting on West Virginia to build I-74.  Given that such will never happen, I wouldn't hold your breath on them signing I-74.

I assume this is the reason I-74 was not requested to also run north of I-81.

The last unmarked county road on that stretch is County J (CSAH 60) at exit 120. There are no rural county roads that are unsigned on the BGS's.

Sadly, the PTC breaks the string at Exit 340 (Virginia Drive).  This is a total of 30 exits over 353.8 miles.
Virginia Drive is only a westbound exit/onramp.  Keep it going into NJ for us..?
