Highways You Have Clinched

I like using TM just to log Interstates.  I'm with Max that logging everything would be so much work and frustrating at this point to have it still be fun.

This applies to all topics, not just clinching, for the record. :)

I log all of my travels there because I managed to get a lot of them documented before I really started going on a clinching spree. It's easier to add than it is to start from scratch, so if your "from scratch" is a smaller sample, it's much easier to get into it.

My family/finances prevent me from doing much clinching of interstates outside of my home region, so tracking US and state highways helps me rack up "accomplishments"
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

I have clinched 14 routes in the past week, notably including US 96 (my first 2dus clinch!), three business routes of US 271 (I have now clinched 8 different routes numbered 271?!), four Texas loops (SL 14, SL 96, SL 157, and SL 390 respectively), and my highest numbered clinched route yet, FM 3384.

I agree with the approach of using TM to log the mileage on highway that belong to systems you care about, and that you don't need to care about every type of highway. My route marker photograph collections work the same way: I will choose the set of highways I want and don't want. And no one has the right to assert authority on what highways you should or should not be interested in. You determine which goals you find to be attainable or desirable.

I have clinched 8/9ths of the numbered highway mileage in Illinois--that proportion increased greatly as my pandemic project (I didn't want to leave the state). For that reason, I have most Illinois highways clinched. Aside from that, I only really care about clinching Interstates and some select US highways. I will get some accidental state highway clinches on my route marker photo safaris, but those are back burner goals if anything.

Right now I have clinches of Interstates 12, 15, 17, 22, 24, 27, 39, 41, 43, 44, 55, 57, 59, 65, 68, 71, 72, 74, 76w, 77, 79, 84e, 86w, 88w, 94, 96, and 97. I have clinched US34, US35, and US43, as well as a handful of 3dus: 113, 131, 141, 163, 199, 223, 276, 550, & 641. Other honorable mentions include I-25, which is clinched south of Douglas, WY. I-10 is clinched from I-35 to I-75, plus I-17 to I-19. I-40 is clinched east of Knoxville, I-64 is clinched west of I-75, and I-84w is clinched except for the piece south of I-86 and a small piece near Cascade Locks.
Avatar is the last interesting highway I clinched.

I have clinched I-240 and I-235 in OK, i-235 & I-135 in KS and I-22 since the last time I posted here.

I'll be 46 miles from my third entire 2DI clinch once I get to Little Rock tonight. All I am missing is from its I-20 terminus to US 75 in Dallas.
