Smoothest Interstate-to-interstate Transitions

Good evening to you all.

Are there any interstate to interstate movements where you live that feel completely seamless and stress-free (meaning, no necessary drops in speed or potentially dangerous lane changes)?

An example: the movement from I-85 South to I-185 South near Lagrange, Georgia; the ramp is a smooth and gradual curve where drivers can maintain 70+ mph without worry and with minimal traffic. (I seem to recall no yellow speed advisory sign at the base of the ramp the last time I drove that ramp heading to Columbus.)

Any other examples? Thank you in advance for your responses.
"Slower Traffic Keep Right" means just that.
You use turn signals. Every Time. Every Transition.

I-276 to I-76 on the PA turnpike, super smooth without any drop in speed.

Seriously tho, NJ Turnpike PA Extension to the mainline is actually decent, yes there is a drop in speed, but it is reasonable.

I-276 to I-95 is even better, with no ramps to introduce potential conflicts.

The connections between I-280 and eastbound I-80 in Davenport, IA are pretty seamless. The westbound exit/entrance would be as well if it weren't for the fact that they're both on the left.

On paper, the interchange between I-80 and the Tri-State in the southern suburbs of Chicago should be smooth, but there aren't nearly enough lanes to stay on I-80.

I applaud MDOT (Michigan) for the geometry of the ramps on both of the I-69/96 interchanges. The southern junction is one of the biggest trumpets that I know of, but it's worth not having to slow down at all in order to stay on I-69.
Davenport, IA -> Valparaiso, IN -> Ames, IA -> Orlando, FL -> Gainesville, FL -> Evansville, IN

5/805 split in Sorrento Valley.  Also, 580/205 at the east end of the Altamont Pass.

I-435 East to I-470. The transition is flawless. Same goes for I-49 North to I-435 North, IMO.

To and from Interstates 75 and 595 (plus FL 869/Sawgrass Expressway) in Sunrise, FL.

Even better is the interchange with I-70, I-76, and US 30. No need to merge in and out of the rest area when everyone has the privilege of passing through it.

mhh

They're not Interstates, but they're built to Interstate standards: Hwy. 402 to Hwy. 401 in London, Ontario.

I'm talking about the transition from I-276 east to I-95 north (not yet signed as such).

I-55/70 to the new I70 in East St Louis IL, very well designed and laid out setup going west.

I-57 and most of the multiplexes it has are smooth...or will be once the roadwork is done.

NJ90 to NJ73 is really smooth, not an interstate, but NJ90 is built to a decent standard.

NJ55 to NJ42, same thing. slight speed drop.

Atlantic City Expressway to NJ42, same thing

I-295 North to I-195 East, very smooth and fast ramp in NJ, but it is mostly a cloverleaf with a flyunder ramp for that movement, NJ29 south to 295 South is pretty decent too, long diagonal ramp/bridge.

I-255 to I-270, Missouri.

I-64 to I-664, Virginia. (The interchange south of the James River).

I-69 to I-164, Indiana.

:bigass:

Seriously, I-77 north to I-79 north, and I-64 east to I-77 north, in Charleston, WV.

I-71 south to I-64 west in Louisville.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Unless otherwise specified, the reverse movement is included:

  • I-87 south to I-287/NJ 17, New York
  • I-86 west to I-390, New York
  • I-90 west to I-271 east of Cleveland, Ohio
  • I-79 to I-279, Pennsylvania
  • I-70 to I-670, Ohio
  • I-87 north to I-90 west, New York

The ramps for the I-93 mainline where it "exits itself" at the north end of I-293 north of Manchester, NH are fairly smooth.

All of the exits of that nature are handled really well in the Manchester area. The exits onto the Everett Turnpike and NH 101 are also pretty smooth.

bmeiser

The "splits" in Indianapolis for I-65/I-70 are relatively smooth, speed-wise.
