Manitoba's highest is 632 (though I couldn't find it and it may not even be signed). Highest one I found signed was 594.

Highest signed should be 594. I don't know of any 600s being signed. Not even sure the brand new 493 is signed.

CA-905 is the highest signed state route, although it will eventually be an interstate.

noelbotevera

PA 999 for Pennsylvania's highest.
NC 905 for North Carolina's highest.
I believe Secondary Route 8665 in Virginia.
MD 998 for Maryland.

Thanks for the correction, I forgot it hasn't been made Interstate yet.

There's 636 up in Churchill, not only signed but paved (ahead of a royal visit, because Her Majesty reportedly really hates riding on unpaved roads).

is there a provincial trunk (primary system) highway in Manitoba numbered higher than 101? I know the PTHs don't go into the 200s.

Saskatchewan's northernmost secondary routes go up into the 900s, though I don't know the highest off the top of my head. At least one of its 900s is legendarily awful.

For your bonus, see F-97. As for signed county roads in general, the older system in the state used 3-digit numbers in a repeating grid of sorts. Here in Marquette County, we're still using that scheme, and we run up to CR 611. Leelanau County also uses that older system, and they're signed in the 600s as well, with at least a CR 643.

I believe Secondary Route 8665 in Virginia.

There are secondary roads in Virginia with posted route numbers well over 10000. I have a picture of 10027 and 10028 in Fairfax County (there are higher route numbers elsewhere) in an album on Facebook here.

The Dulles Airport Access Road (maintained by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority) is "secret" Route 90004.
The portions of the George Washington Memorial Parkway in Virginia (maintained by the National Park Service) are "secret" Route 90005.

OHIO (again, from memory):

Interstate:  I-490

US:  US-422

State:  OH-821 (??)
No reference material here, either. It's more fun that way. I-680 around Youngstown for the interstate and OH-835 in Dayton.
After further review and a little research for Ohio:
Interstate: I-680
US: US422
State: OH872

I-990 -- or are we ranking by parent?

I'll concede NY 990v is a mistake and shouldn't be signed.

Also, I'd consider it to be a different route system, since it's a reference route rather than an ordinary state route.

Aargh!!! I forgot about I-680.  I think the highest 2-di in Ohio (I-90) threw me off.

999 exists in Camsell Portage, SK. Now whether it's signed, someone would need to cross Lake Athabasca to find out.

Yeah, I-670 and I-675 also trump I-490.

I missed OH-872 despite driving on it this past summer. But then again, it's one of those state routes that seems barely worth the designation.

nexus73

Oregon!  I-405. US 730, SR 569 with the state route being AFAIK.

Rick
US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.

Louisiana:
I-610 (910 has never been signed)
US 425
LA 3285

State logs say there is a LA 3286, but the description is not very descriptive about where it is (some .3 mile spur off of US 90), and many of those higher 3xxx highways are unsigned.

I could have sworn I've seen signed 4-digit state routes in PA.
Also, in NJ, the highest signed county route is Cumberland County 767, and the highest 500 series county route is 585

Yeah, they're called quadrant routes.  They're unique within a county, not at a statewide level, and they're only supposed to be signed on reference markers.  Are you saying that you've seen regular route shields for them?

Somebody posted one a few weeks back, although I think it was a quick construction/contractor job...it was a keystone shield, nonetheless.
