Anyone know of any listings of the Virginia state secondary routes between 1986 and 2000?  I'm in Alexandria for another day or so and might venture out if I have time.

VDOT maintains county-by-county lists, like this one for Fairfax County (the county with SRs closest to Alexandria -- neither Arlington County, nor independent cities like Alexandria, have SRs). It shows some Fairfax secondary routes in the 1986-1999 range. All are very short (less than one mile long, often suburban cul-de-sacs less than 0.1 mile long), and may have little or no route signage. However, GMSV shows that SR 1986 (Dormont St. in Springfield) has its route number posted at one end in a small white-rectangle sign (not the usual and larger white circle on black background, typical for major SRs).

I have a photo for 2000 (not in Virginia) on hand.

GMSV for Kentucky routes, including most in the 1986-1999 range and some in the 2xxx range and higher, might be the way to go.

A better option is the KYTC photolog. They update practically every state-maintained road on an annual basis. Google may not have all the Kentucky state routes, and some of the imagery will most certainly be old. Plus, I think the KYTC photolog is searchable by route number.

I think I have most of the routes in the range where we are now, but quite honestly, I don't always feel like pouring through my online photos to find contest entries.

I actually thought I had some pictures of that route, as it opened about the time I got into roadgeek photography (that is a new connector from KY 388 to the US 25/US 421 bypass of Richmond) but I couldn't find them where I thought they would be.

I wouldn't mind being temporarily detailed to drive the image collection vehicle.

I've really enjoyed following this challenge. This is the first time I've come here when I happened to know where to find the right image. Thanks to everyone who's contributed, it's been quite a ride. Onward and upward!

I can't believe this thread broke 2000.  I thought it would be over before 1500.  This is nuts.  Thanks to everyone who participated and brought us this far, mining the Internet for sign photos!

Alabama's safety net of county routes in the 2000s-range is located about 4-5 hours from me in Pike County, but I don't go there too much...
