Louisiana isn't too big on sine salads, but here are a few intersections with multiple routes intersecting.

This may be the most signs together for Louisiana and it's due to 2 sets of intersecting routes. Downtown Shreveport, LA

Very much like this sign assembly, but it needs an 8th sign for balance.

Going the opposite direction we could pretend US 171 South was there. It was probably the original terminus anyway. And it would actually connect it to its parent.

This intersection had the very 1st black & white state shields in the state. IIRC, this assembly dates back to the 90s.

I was going to suggest that if a driver turned left, it would surely lead TO something. Then I realized that would probably be an accident or ticket for going the wrong way on a one way street.

If there had been a second direction on that street, we probably could have gotten that salad up to Alabama-size.

I'm going to assume the DETOUR route is a permanent alternate route, and not one that will go away when some construction is finished. Wrong plaque?

The detour I-10 signs have been there since at least 1999. They are for hazmat based trucks prohibited from using the Wallace Tunnel. They direct trucks across the Cochrane-Africatown Bridge on US 90/98 Truck.

That makes sense. The main question here is the use of the orange DETOUR plaque. My understanding is that orange signs are for temporary situations, and the word DETOUR generally means that the normal route is closed to thru-traffic. The use of an orange DETOUR plaque suggests that I-10 West is temporarily closed. I have enough sense to figure out that because it is mounted on a permanent assembly, that I-10 West is not currently closed. But it is still awkward. A plaque such as ALT or TRUCK would be more appropriate.

The leaning sine salad of Louisiana:

It isn't leaning that bad in this GSV shot, but it is so heavy that after some time goes by, this assembly will begin to lean. (You will have to turn around to see the assembly.)

Looks like they added the I-20 shields to the thing as an afterthought. No wonder it's top-heavy. Also, judging by the map, the I-20 shields are useless. Looks like it would make more sense to turn around and take LA 149 back to I-20.

These trailblazers are used to help redirect & thin out traffic that takes place after Grambling State Univ. football games. I'm not sure if it helps because most fans of both teams come in from the interstate. This assembly has fallen over after storms with heavy winds a few times in its 15+ year existence.

The I-20's are only attached to the crossbars, so it's putting strain on everything.

Google Street View has it still standing as of January 2013. I was within five blocks of that sign four months ago, but chose to take Main Street instead of Veterans Blvd down to Spur-239 so I can't quite verify from personal experience. I don't know why they would have changed it since the Google car last drive by, though. One thing I did notice in Del Rio, though, is that the triplex of 90/277/377 is inconsistently signed through town. That's hardly an unusual occurrence, of course.

FWIW, the bypass around Del Rio is designated and signed only as Loop-79, despite what Google Maps would lead you to believe. US-90/277/377 goes through town.

Okay, that's good to know...I figured it was going to be a Business Route, typical of rural Texas.

Looks like Loop 79 is a true loop, as opposed to a rerouting of an existing route. That would explain why they didn't reroute 90 or 277 onto it.
