Phase 2 of the Glenn Highway MP 34-42 Reconstruction Project expands SR 1 (Glenn Highway) to a four lane, divided highway between S Inner Springer Loop in Palmer and SR 3 (Parks Highway) at Gateway. Construction is scheduled to run from Summer 2023 to September 2025.1

State Route 3 travels west from SR 1 at Gateway to suburban areas of Wasilla, Meadow Lakes and Houston. Known entirely as George Parks Highway, SR 3 joins Anchorage with Fairbanks along a 323.72 mile long course.
