Former State Route 18 Business - San Bernardino

The designation of State Route 18 Business in San Bernardino was the result of the prior designation of SR 259 as part of SR 18. Prior to 1964, SR 18 was defined to follow the Riverside Freeway corridor (Interstate 215 south and SR 91 west) toward Orange County and ultimately Long Beach. That state route was truncated to the interchange with SR 210, but the business route remained signed until 2009 as far south as the Highland Avenue interchange along SR 259.
SR 18 Business combined with SR 30 Business along Highland Avenue east from the freeway along SR 259 to Sierra Way. The bannered route followed Sierra Way north to 48th Street, which returned SR 18 Business to SR 18 along Waterman Avenue.

Removed by 2011, this SR 18 Business marker was posted along Highland Avenue eastbound after the exchange with SR 259.

SR 206 was the designation of the route after the U.S. designation was removed, but before the state transferred maintenance to the city. Southward, H Street heads into Downtown San Bernardino.
