County Road 279
County Road 279 joins Vernon with Caryville to the north and SR 77 near Greenhead to the south. The southern branch follows Moss Hill Road 9.35 miles to Dunford Lake and SR 79 near the Vernon city center. The northern section travels 12.02 miles along Pate Pond Road to Pate Lake, Whitehead Crossroads, I-10 and U.S. 90.
