State Road 54 West - Land O' Lakes to New Port Richey

The western segment of SR 54 extends from SR 56 and CR 54 (Wesley Chapel Boulevard). Commercial development continues along the six lane arterial west from the Tampa Premium Outlets with Brightwork Crossing built along the north side of SR 54 in 2017-18.

SR 54 crosses a CSX Railroad at-grade along the west side of U.S. 41 (Land O' Lakes Boulevard). A PD&E Study completed by FDOT in 2016 recommended building a grade separated interchange at U.S. 41, with an elevated roadway for SR 54. However public opposition halted any further progress for addressing congestion here.

Sunlake Boulevard is a four lane roadway connecting SR 54 with various developments in southern Pasco County and northern Hillsborough County. Costing around $11 million, Sunlake Boulevard northward was designed and built by a group of developers and Pasco County starting in Summer 2007.¹
