State Road 129 - McDuff Avenue

Florida State Road 129 travels just 0.728 miles along McDuff Avenue through the Murry Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville. The state road provides connectivity between U.S. 17 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Interstate 10 at Waller Street, as the two merge at a wye interchange with partial access. Construction redesigned McDuff Avenue to a three-lane boulevard with sidewalks and bike lanes in 2007-08.


State Road 129 travels north from U.S. 17 (Roosevelt Boulevard) on a linear course through the Murry Hill neighborhood.

SR 228 turns west along Post Street as SR 129 continues north on McDuff Avenue one half mile to Interstate 10.

A split diamond interchange joins Interstate 10 with the north end of SR 129 via Waller and Rayford Streets. This shield assembly stands along Waller Street westbound ahead of the signal with McDuff Avenue at the Lackawanna neighborhood.

McDuff Avenue heads south two blocks from Interstate 10 to Rosselle Street. Rosselle Street passes under the nearby Roosevelt Expressway (U.S. 17) to the Riverside community.

SR 228 navigates through the Murry Hill area along Post Street, connecting with SR 129 (McDuff Avenue) at the ensuing signal. The state road was realigned along with U.S. 17 to bypass Riverside along I-10 in 2006. As such, the 1.636 mile route east of adjacent Old Roosevelt Boulevard was relinquished.

SR 228 west travels 20.4 miles southwest along Post Street and Normandy Boulevard through western Jacksonville to U.S. 301 at Maxville. SR 228 east joins SR 129 (McDuff Avenue) south to U.S. 17 north where it joins the U.S. highway to Downtown Jacksonville.

Beyond Old Roosevelt Boulevard, SR 129 south and SR 128 east travel two blocks to U.S. 17 (Roosevelt Boulevard).
