The Kickapoo Turnpike travels 7.92 miles north from SE 89th Street and IH 40/U.S. 270-SH 3 in southeastern Oklahoma City to U.S. 62 in the city of Harrah. This section of the toll road was completed on January 4, 2021.

The Kickapoo Turnpike opened with the option for cash toll collection. The switch to all electronic tolling (AET) however took place soon thereafter.

The Kickapoo Turnpike heads 18.71 miles north from IH 40 at Exit 170 to IH 44 (Turner Turnpike) at the town of Luther. The toll road was approved as part of an extension of IH 240 by AASHTO in Fall 2021.

I-40/U.S. 270 was expanded to six overall lanes from Exit 169 / Peebly Road west to the split with Interstate 240 at Exit 165. The $75 million project ran from January 2018 to Summer 2020.
