I-40 bends southwest 1.3 miles from Exit 211 to join I-65 north by the Edgehill neighborhood. Prior to 2000, I-65 overlapped with I-40 east to I-24 north toward McFerrin Park. I-65 was realigned west of Downtown Nashville and over I-265 in an effort to better serve through traffic.
