Interstate 75 North - Sidney

The first of four exits for the Shelby County seat of Sidney connects Interstate 75 with Fair Road and the former route of Business Loop I-75 north.

Angling northeast from Interstate 75, Fair Road leads to Shelby County Fairgrounds and the intersection of Water Street and Walnut Avenue ahead of Downtown Sidney.

The diamond interchange (Exit 90) with Fair Road was originally a parclo with a loop ramp from Fair Road west onto I-75 south.

Business Loop I-75 through Sidney followed SR 47 (Court Street) east from the diamond interchange at Exit 92, 1.4 miles to Main Avenue (old U.S. 25) at the Shelby County Courthouse. The route turned north along SR 29 (Main Avenue) to Wapakoneta Avenue. Signs for the route are still posted along SR 47 and Wapakoneta Avenue (old U.S. 25) as of 2019.

Joining Sidney with Versailles and Union City along the Indiana state line, SR 47 heads 3.3 miles west from Interstate 75 to the unincorporated community of Hardin in Turtle Creek Township.

Interstate 75 passes over an abandoned railroad line ahead of Exit 92. This overhead was replaced with a ground level assembly omitting Business Loop I-75 by 2009.

Forthcoming SR 29 joins Interstate 75 in Sidney with the city of St. Marys, 21 miles to the northwest.

SR 29 follows St. Marys Avenue south to Russell Road, where it separates into a couplet to Downtown Sidney. SR 29 north to SR 705 west leads to Fort Loramie.

I-75 straddles the Sidney city line northeast through the diamond interchange (Exit 93) with SR 29 (St. Marys Avenue). SR 29 is a 102.94 mile long highway from Indiana State Road 67 near Celina to U.S. 40 in West Jefferson.¹

Wapakoneta Avenue (old U.S. 25) becomes County Road 25A north from the city of Sidney and Exit 94 to Sidney the village of Anna.
