Interstate 95 South Jacksonville - Downtown to Southside

Interstate 95

Spanning the St. Johns River, work on the Fuller Warren Bridge started on August 5, 1996. The concrete girder bridge cost $100 million, opening initially southbound on April 16, 2000. Work on the northbound span continued until it fully opened to traffic on November 17, 2002,1,2 The 75 foot high span replaced a bascule bridge originally constructed by the city of Jacksonville in 1954. The previous span was tolled until 1988.3
