Interstate 275 East - Indiana to Springdale


I-275 (Donald H. Rolf Circle Freeway) enters the state of Ohio after a short stretch in Indiana. Donald Rolf, a former Hamilton County commissioner, state representative and later state senator, was a proponent for the construction of the circumferential highway for I-275.1

Exit 21 joins Interstate 275 with Kilby Road in rural western Hamilton County near Hooven and Cleves. Kilby Road follows the Whitewater River northward from U.S. 50 (Ohio Scenic River Byway) to Harrison Avenue (old U.S. 52).

A folded diamond interchange (Exit 21) connects Interstate 275 with Kilby Road amid a flat agricultural area. Kilby Road leads into the city of Harrison next to I-74/U.S. 52.

I-74/U.S. 52 east advance southeast 2.7 miles from Harrison to combine with Interstate 275 at Exit 25. I-74/U.S. 52 overlap west to Exit 169 in eastern Indiana.

Two lanes merge with I-74/U.S. 52 east at the forthcoming trumpet interchange (Exit 25). I-74/U.S. 52 travel west to Greensburg and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Exit 25 continues north to a loop ramp onto I-74/U.S. 52 west ahead of Harrison. I-275 curves east onto the 3.0 mile long overlap with I-74/U.S. 52.

I-74/275 and U.S. 52 advance one half mile to SR 128 (Exit 5) next. SR 128 connects the freeway with Cleves to the south (via U.S. 50) and with Hamilton, seat of Butler County, to the north.

Following the Great Miami River, SR 128 (Hamilton Cleves Pike Road) winds southward 4.9 miles to conclude at U.S. 50 ahead of Cleves. Traveling northeast, SR 128 stays west of the river to Pershing Avenue in Hamilton.

Interstate 275 continues north from the upcoming three wye interchange (Left Exit 9) to SR 126 (Ronald Reagan Highway) while I-74/U.S. 52 turns south to meet Harrison Avenue (Exit 11).
