Removed by July 2025, the last remaining state-named shield for Interstate 495 posted on the Capital Beltway mainline preceded the American Legion Memorial Bridge. Capital Beltway trailblazers were posted in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but phased out over the ensuing decades.
