There are two other four-level interchanges of similar design in New York State. The exchange joining I-90 with U.S. 9 to the immediate west is one. The other is where I-295 meets Grand Central Parkway in Queens, New York.

Bruno Stadium, named after Senator Joseph Bruno, the politician responsible with securing funds for the 4,500-seat stadium, is home to the Tri-City ValleyCats. The ValleyCats are a minor league franchise in the Frontier League.

Lower Hudson Avenue extends north from the diamond interchange (Exit 8) with 23rd Street to the Troy-Green Island Bridge. 23rd Street west links with parallel NY 32 (2nd Avenue).

NY 7 constitutes a freeway between U.S. 4 in Troy and Interstate 87 in the town of Colonie. The freeway was originally considered as part of an extension of I-88 from Schenectady to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Crosstown Connection Schenectady and NY 7 here were the only sections of those original plans built the area.
