Interstate 795 North

The establishment of Interstate 587 along U.S. 264 between I-95 at Wilson and Greenville coincided with the renumbering of all exits to use the I-587 mileposts from U.S. 64 at Zebulon in place of U.S. 264 mileposts from I-87/440 in Raleigh. Exits along the cosigned section of I-587/795 changed, with Exit 38 for I-95 changed to 18, Exit 40 for NC 42 changed to Exit 20 and Exit 42 for Downing Street changed to Exit 22.
NC 581 Connector extends 0.62 miles north from NC 581 (Ash Street) to the parclo interchange joining the south end of Interstate 795 with U.S. 70.

U.S. 70 (Grantham Street) constitutes an arterial route west from parallel U.S. 13/117 and the freeway bypass of Downtown Goldsboro.
